Stephanie, our pharmacy manager at SRx Pharmacy, has completed the International Society of Travel Medicine board examination and will ensure you have the vaccines you need for your travels! We use state of the art software to provide the most up to date recommendations on the vaccines you need, no matter where you are traveling. We will conveniently prescribe and administer the vaccines you require at your initial visit and will provide you with a future vaccine schedule to complete.
SRx Pharmacy can directly bill vaccinations and prescriptions to many employee drug benefit plans, however, coverage may vary depending on the individual plan. It is always best to check with your insurance plan for more information on coverage.
Unfortunately, travel consultations are not covered by Alberta Health and are generally not covered by insurance companies. SRx Pharmacy offers two different consultation options depending on your itinerary, vaccine history and medical conditions. We believe in transparency and will never charge you more fees than what is listed below.
Our basic consultation is for patients going on trips with a shorter duration and an uncomplicated itinerary (ex. traveling to Mexico for one week). A basic consultation is also ideal for patients who are knowledgeable about their vaccine history and are aware which vaccines need to be updated. This type of consultation is also best suited for those patients who do not have complex medical conditions. Patients will have 15 minutes to discuss their trip with a travel health pharmacist and create a personalized plan.
Duration: 15 minutes Cost: $25
Our complex consultation is for patients going on trips with a longer duration, or those traveling to multiple countries (ex. traveling to Africa on a Safari, traveling throughout South America for four weeks). A complex consultation is also suited for patients who have more complicated medical conditions and for those who are unsure of their vaccination history. During a complex consultation, you will have 30 minutes with a travel health pharmacist and create a personalized plan.
Duration: 30 minutes Cost: $50
Included in the consultation fee
Yellow Fever administration $25
Our pharmacists are also able to prescribe travel related medications you may require, such as:
- Medications for traveler’s diarrhea
- Medications to prevent malaria
- Medications to prevent altitude sickness
Fees for vaccines:
Our vaccines are priced following the Alberta pricing guide and will never be inflated. We want you to spend your hard-earned money on a wonderful holiday, not overpriced vaccinations.
